Quay Crane Testing
Quay cranes (Ship to Shore) typically require thorough inspection every 10 to 15 years to maintain performance and comply with safety standards.
The given task included strain gauging and measurement of stress/load distribution, structural vibration with Operation Modal Analysis and Operator Comfort with compliance to ISO 2631-1 and EU directive 2002/44/EC.
Our measurement involved extensive use of strain gauges, vibration sensors, and data acquisition systems. Each test required weeks of planning, travelling, installation of strain gauges, accelerometers and actual measurement. Such careful planning and execution ensured measurement done with great productivity.
Performance of imc Measurement systems shined spectacularly during the measurement.
-
- Strain gauge and vibration signals on the boom were synchronised with strain signals on the trolley.
- Use of automated measurement tasks and wireless communication permitted one person operation
- Use of sense line eliminated signal drift with long strain gauge cables
- Powerful real-time evaluation with online FAMOS produced results on the fly during the tests.
Our team members’ extensive experience in executing such measurement tasks goes along with our company’s mission to become dependable measurement partner across the boundaries.
